| Motorola and Rand McNally, provider maps and directions, announced that they have teamed up to produce a GPS navigation system for cell phones. Dubbed MONA, for Mobile Navigation, the downloadable mobile application will offer a convenient and affordable alternative to car navigation systems. Subscribers will be able to transform their Motorola cell phones into portable GPS-enabled, turn-by-turn, voice-guided navigation systems, providing directions via voice-prompts and re-calculate routes if a turn is missed. The service costs $9.99 a month, and will be available from select wireless carriers on all compatible Motorola wireless handsets. | |
