Sony Ericsson today announced the W205, an entry-level sliding music phone with a built-in FM radio and TrackID music recognition software. The Japanese electronics giant Sony and Swedish phone maker Ericsson joint venture said the W205's music player features album art, playlists, shuffle mode and loop mode.
The handset also comes with TrackID music recognition software to identify the title and artist of unknown songs -- even recorded from the built-in radio.
Additional features include a 1.3-megapixel camera, Bluetooth wireless technology and multiple phonebooks to keep contacts in order if someone needs to borrow the phone.
"The W205 is perfect for those who love portable music," said Timo Maassmann, Sony Ericsson's Marketing business manager. "The multiple phonebook function is an added bonus -- share your phone with your family but keep your contacts separate from theirs."
The W205 will be available in selected markets in the third quarter.
