Motorola recently unveiled initial details of its secretive RAZR V3x, the successor to the hugely popular RAZR V3. Previously called the Motorola V1150, the renamed RAZR V3x keeps an ultra-thin design, resembling its predecessor with only a 20 mm thickness.

While Motorola has made no official mention of a North American carrier picking it up, it has dropped hints that the RAZR V3x may be released in accordance with Cingular's HSDPA (High-Speed Download Packet Access) launch at the end of 2005; allowing the RAZR V3x to outperform existing EDGE speeds by sustaining over-the-air data rates of more than 3 Mbps.

With HSDPA as its blazing-fast backbone, robust multimedia technology and broadband connectivity gives users a new dimension of accessibility. Featuring a built-in 2.0-megapixel still camera, consumers can capture high-resolution photos at up to 1600 x 1200 px in size; even getting closer to the action with its 8x zoom. Afterwards, sharing memories with friends and family is effortless through multimedia messaging.

Uniquely added, a separate VGA camera allows users to access revolutionary real-time 2-way video calling. Through HSDPA, users can video conference anywhere on the go. And with progressive downloading, they can also download media files and view them almost instantaneously, or store them and view at their convenience.

Additionally, the Motorola RAZR V3x features SCREEN3, an innovative technology solution from Motorola that gives consumers zero-click access to news, sports, entertainment, and other premium content directly from their mobile device home screen - no buttons to push, no browsers to launch.

With up to 512 MB of optional removable memory, consumers can download and store music, games and videos from dusk till dawn.

Motorola RAZR V3x Features:

- Sleek streamlined housing with large, vivid color external and internal displays
- 2 megapixel camera with 8x zoom, macro mode setting and LED VGA camera for 2-way video calling
- Bluetooth wireless technology supports wireless stereo sound through Motorola's Bluetooth Stereo Headset and other compatible Bluetooth enabled accessories for hands-free communication
- Up to 512 MB of removable optional TransFlash memory
- Enhanced graphics processor for high performance 3D graphics and J2ME for the ultimate in 3D gaming choices
- Motorola's SCREEN3 technology solution featuring zero-click access to news, sports, entertainment, and other premium content
- Progressive downloading to view media files on demand
- Support of AAC+, MPEG4, WMV, WMA, MP3 and Real Video / Audio files
