South Korea's Samsung Electronics today unveiled the S5600, a slim multimedia handset for style-conscious consumers in the European market. Samsung said the phone has a 2.8-inch touch screen and runs on its TouchWiz interface for finger-flick navigation similar to Apple's popular iPhone.
Mobile widgets can also be dragged and placed on the screen for one-click access to favorite applications.
Samsung's "Gesture Lock" feature lets users draw letters directly on the screen. Menus can then be set to each letter, from A to Z.
The handset supports full browsing using HSDPA high-speed Internet. A built-in accelerometer sensor auto-rotates the screen for a more PC-like viewing experience.
The S5600 has a 3.0-megapixel camera with the digital camera features such as Smile Shot. It also features music recognition using Shazam's "Find Music" service.
The Samsung S5600 will be available in European countries from May.
