Sony Ericsson today announced a 12.1-megapixel camera phone tailored to viewing movies.The company showed the handset under the concept name Satio at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain.
The handset will feature a 16.7 million color screen in 16:9 widescreen format, and will have a full-touch media menu to tap directly into movies, TV-series and video clips.
A built-in 12.1-megapixel camera with touch focus and Xenon flash will capture photos and video in high-resolution quality.
The Satio was unveiled in conjunction with the announcement of Sony Ericsson's new Entertainment Unlimited service.
"Many of the strategic initiatives we've announced in the past year have laid the internal framework to launch this new consumer proposition to the market and Sony Ericsson is now ready to drive the next wave of market development with Entertainment Unlimited," said Dick Komiyama, President of Sony Ericsson.
The Sony Ericsson Satio will be available in the second half of 2009.
